Mediation Professionals

Mediation Professionals are men and women that have taken the necessary courses and formal education to be able to offer their skills to others for a fee.

Mediation plays an important role in our society and is seen by most as force for good. Professional Mediators help parties in conflict find a resolution with out going to court where in most cases there is a clear winner and a clear loser.

The mediation process seeks a win win outcome so that both parties to the conflict can get what they want, or at the very least to come to an agreement that satisfies the needs of the parties involved.

Professional mediators find work in many areas of our lives. One of the most rewarding things about being a mediator is the satisfaction gained from a mutually agreed outcome.

This especially true when it comes to matters such as child custody, divorce and separation conflicts. These are highly charged issues to deal with and can if left unresolved or placed in the hands of a judge and lawyer, can be most destructive, even to the “winners”. The truth is that when these matters are dealt with in court, there are always casualties.

Professional mediation is, on the whole, much less expensive than taking legal action and conflicts can be resolved at the pace the participants choose, not the courts which can be backlogged for months even years. The mediation environment is one of conciliation rather than confrontation.

Because the role of a mediator is one of neutrality both sides can know that the process will be fair and the general reaction of the parties involved in the conflict towards the mediator is one of respect.

Mediation has been used in our legal system for years as a way of eliminating the need for court freeing up the legal system for matters that cannot be resolved through face to face mediation.

A judge will order the parties involved (usually two) to site down with a mediator to iron out their differences. If this fails then the matter will proceed in court. This first step to resolve conflicts prior to court saves money and drastically reduces the backlogs in our courts.

Mediation professionals save all of us time, money and keeps petty and easily solved matters out of the court room which benefits us all in the long run. If you are looking for a mediator in the Ottawa area, why not give Jeremy Dolgin a call.
